How To Use Review Tab In MS Word
MS Word Review Tab
In this lesson, we will tell you about the review tab of MS Word. You can activate the Review Tab of MS Word by pressing Alt + P from the keyboard. Or you can also use it by mouse.
The Review Tab is divided into several groups. Each group has commands related to a specific task. You can use these commands by pressing the mouse. Below we will tell you how many groups are there in the Review Tab? And what is the function of the commands available in each group.
Names of Groups of Review Tab and their Functions
There are total 6 groups in the Review Tab. You can see them in the screen shot shown above. The names of these groups are Proofing, Comments, Tracking, Changes, Compare and Protect respectively. Now you have become familiar with the Groups of Review Tab. Let us now know the work of each group.
Proofing In MS Word
There are many useful commands related to Word Document in Proofing Group. The most important command is Spelling & Grammar. By which the spelling and grammar related errors in the text written in any Word document can be rectified. It also contains Thesaurus Command to find the synonyms of a word. You can also translate the document in different languages present in MS Word through Translate Command.
Comments In MS Word
If you want to write something extra about a particular word or word group available in a Word document. So the Comment Command is used for this.
Tracking In MS Word
If you also share your system with any other user. So Tracking Group can be very useful for you. When Tracking is applied in a Word document. So you can know the editing that happens in that document through tracking. Whatever changes happen in this document. Word shows them separately. If a single word has been edited in your document. Tracking shows you that too. This command is very useful on Multi User Systems.
Changes In MS Word
Changes Group is used to accept and reject changes in the document. For this work it has Accept and Reject commands. Changes in the document are accepted (meaning adding changes to the document) through the Accept command. And Changes are not included in the document through Reject Command.
Compare In MS Word
If you have more than one version of the same type of document. And you are confused which document is more effective? What is the difference between Document 1 and Document 2 So with Compare Command, you can do this work easily. By Compare, you can compare two similar documents.
Protect In MS Word
With the Protect Command, you can protect the formatting done in the document. You can limit editing in the document by password. And you can make your document only readable for the user. After entering the password, no other person can make changes in that document.
