Page Layout Tab is divided into several groups. Each group has commands related to a particular task. You can use these commands by pressing them through the mouse. Below we will tell you how many groups are there in the Page Layout tab? And what is the function of the commands available in each group.

There are a total of 5 groups in the Page Layout tab. You can see them in the screen shot shown above. The names of these groups are Themes, Page Setup, Page Background, Paragraph, and Arrange, respectively. Now you have become familiar with the groups of page layout tabs. Now let’s know the work of each group.

Themes In MS-Word

Themes in the Themes group are applied to Word documents. Word already has many themes. Each theme has a font, font style set differently. You can choose the themes according to your needs. If you want, you can also modify that theme according to your needs. Or you can create a new theme for yourself.

Page Setup In MS-Word

The Page Setup group contains commands related to the settings of the Page Margins, Orientation, Size, Columns Number, etc. of the Word Document. Apart from these, the settings of hyphenation, line numbers and page breaks are done through the commands available in this group. Like HTML editors, the line number command can automatically write the number of each line in Word documents.

Page Background In MS-Word

The background of Word documents is formatted by the commands available in this group. There are three commands for the formatting of the page background. Which is Watermark, Page Color and Page Border respectively. In MS Word, you can also put the created watermark in the page, and you can also put custom watermark. You can use your name or your photo as a watermark. The color of the page is changed through page color. And the border is placed around the page through the page border.

Paragraph In MS-Word

A paragraph group is also in ms word’s home tab. However, this paragraph is for a completely different function than that. This allows you to set the indent and spacing of each paragraph available in a Word document. You set the indent in the left and right direction. That means how much you want to keep a particular paragraph in the left. Or how much you want to keep right. That’s exactly how spacing is done. But the spacing you set from top to bottom.

Arrange In MS-Word

Arrange Group is used to organize insert graphics in Word documents. You can set the position of the picture, its alignment, grouping, etc. through the commands in this group. Apart from this, word wrapping settings can also be done from the Arrange Group.

There are a total of 6 groups in the References tab. You can see them in the screen shot shown above. The names of these groups are Table of Contents, Footnotes, Citations & Bibliography, Captions, Index, and Table of Authorities, respectively. Now you have become familiar with the groups of references tab. Now let’s know the work of each group.

1- Table of Contents In MS-Word

As the name of this group shows what its function is. With the help of the Table of Contents Group, we can easily create a Table of Contents index, which is called a list of topics in Hindi, in our Word document. And these list of topics are clickable. That means just click on the particular lesson you want to read and you will get to the same lesson directly.

2- Footnotes In MS-Word

With the Footnotes Group, you can add additional information or supplements about your document. Which makes your document more reliable. Footnotes and endnotes are added at the end of the document.

3- Citations & Bibliography In MS-Word

If your document includes someone else’s work, or you’d also like to let your readers know the sources of information in your document. Then comes the work of this group. You can give references at the end of your document through the Citations and Bibliography Group.

4- Captions In MS-Word

If you also have images in your document, captions allow each image to be named after it. This makes it easier to understand the picture. The way we create a table of contents in a document. In the same way, you can create a Table of Figures by captions. The task of this table is to keep all the pictures in the document in one list.

5- Index In MS-Word

You can also create separate indexes for each page of the document. The way you create a Table of Contents, which is for the entire document. In the same way you can create an index for a page or topic. You can also call it a list of topics.

6- Table of Authorities In MS-Word

You can also create a Table of Authorities in your document. That is, the sources you have used in this document. You can make a list of all those cases, statutes and authorities.
