How to Use the MS Word Mailings Tab
In this lesson, we will tell you about the Mailings Tab of MS Word. You can activate the Mailings Tab of MS Word by pressing Alt+M from the keyboard. Or you can also use it by mouse.
The Mailings tab is divided into several groups. Each group has commands related to a specific task. You can use these commands with the mouse. Below we will tell you how many groups are there in the Mailings Tab? And what is the function of the commands available in each group.
Group Names and Functions of the Mailings Tab
There are total 5 groups in the Mailings tab. You can see them in the screen shot shown above. The names of these groups are respectively Create, Write and Insert Fields, Review Results, and Finish. Now you have become familiar with the groups of the mailings tab. Let us now know the work of each group.
Note: Mailings Tab has only one main function. Sending Mail, Envelope, Label etc. separately to many people at once. For this task, we have to do Mail Merge in MS Word. And each of the groups in this tab are dependent on each other. Therefore it is not easy to study them separately. Still, we have tried to make you understand. So that you get the basic information about Mailings Tab.
1- Create In MS Word
Through this group you can create Envelopes and Labels in the document. For example, Mailing Address Labels, File Folder Labels etc.
2- Start Mail Merge In MS Word
The process of mail merge starts by this group. And from here to whom you want to send mail. can add them. That is, Recipients List can be Created, Edited, Deleted.
3- Write & Insert Fields In MS Word
When you finish the work of both the above groups. Then the work of this group comes. Otherwise you cannot use this group separately. Because its commands are not active. Through this group you can insert Extra Fields in your mail, you can block a particular mailing address. And Greeting Line can be added. And you can do all these tasks separately for each recipient.
4- Preview Results In MS Word
When your Mail Merge task is completed, you can see a preview of your work through the commands present in this group.
5- Finish In MS Word
By this group you finish the mail merge process.
