Introduction to Computer Clock

Each computer shows Date and Time through a clock. And the computer uses this clock to record the date and time of the changes in the computer. Computer Clock is shown on the Taskbar. In which the Current Date and Time continues.

On clicking on the clock, the clock gets expanded and a new window opens. In which there is a Calendar and Digital Clock which keeps showing the current time. New Months and Past Months can also be seen with the help of Arrows made on both sides of the calendar. We can see the calendar of about 100 years through Computer Clock.

Changing Date and Time of Computer

To keep the computer clock updated, the date and time of the computer has to be changed. The method of which is being explained below.

Step: 1 First of all click on the clock on the taskbar.

Step: 2 And from here click on Change date and time settings.

Step: 3 Now the Date and Time Dialog Box will open in front of you. From here you click on Change date and time… under Date and Time Tab.

Step: 4 After doing this, the Dialog Box of Date and Time Settings will open in front of you. In which there will also be a Calendar and a Clock.

Step: 5 Now to correct the date from here, with the help of the Left and Right Arrows made in the calendar, you can select the right day after completing the months.

Step: 6 To correct the time, the correct time can be selected with the help of Up and Down Arrows made under the clock.

Step: 7 When you have corrected both the things, then save it by clicking on OK. Your computer time and date have changed.

Adding Additional Clocks

By Default our computer shows the clock of only one time zone. But, if we want, we can add more than one time zone. The method of which is being explained below. (How to Change Date and Time of Laptop)

Step: 1 First click on Clock. And then click on Change date and time settings…. See screenshot for help

Step: 2 By doing this, the Date and Time Dialog Box will open in front of you. Out of which you have to click on Additional Clocks Tab.

Step: 3 Now click on the Check Box made in front of Show this clock. By doing this the Drop Down List will be available.

Step: 4 After this select Time Zone from the drop down list. And enter the name of your choice in the Enter display name box.

Step: 5 And finally first click on Apply then OK.

Step: 6 Now click back on Clock. Your Additional Clock will be visible.

Step: 7 You can also add other time zones in the same way. And by unchecking Show this clock, you can also delete the extra time zone.

Connecting Computer Clock to Internet Time

If you want, you can also connect Computer Clock to Internet Time Server. When Computer Clock is connected to Internet Time Server, then the user does not have to update the date and time. It keeps updating itself from time to time. (How to Change Date and Time of Laptop)

Step: 1 First click on Computer Clock. And then click on Change date and time settings.

Step: 2 By doing this, the Date and Time Dialog Box will open in front of you. From here you click on Internet Time Tab and click on Change settings.

Step: 3 Now check the Synchronize with an Internet time server by clicking on the check box in front of it. Select your server from the drop down list and click on Update now.

Step: 4 When your computer is synchronized with Internet Time Server. After that click on OK. Your Computer Clock has been connected to Internet Time.

Changing Time Zone

Due to Time Zone Wrong being selected, your computer can show wrong Date and Time according to you. Therefore the Time Zone should also be set according to the location. Step: 1 First click on Computer Clock. And then click on Change date and time settings.

Step: 2 By doing this, the Date and Time Dialog Box will open in front of you. From here you click on Change time zone… under Date and Time Tab.

Step: 3 By doing this, Time Zone Settings Dialog Box will open in front of you. Out of which you select a Time Zone from the Drop Down List. And click on OK.

Step: 4 As soon as you do this, the time zone of your computer’s clock will change and according to the time zone, the clock will start showing time.
