Mouse
A mouse is an input device that is used to tell the computer what to do. it is connected to the CPU with a wire. the mouse pad is the mouse’s home and it should always remain in its house even while you move the mouse.
Mouse’s is also called a pointing device. it is used to point and select items on the computer screen. it is also used while playing games and making drawing.

Types of computer mouse
There are different types of computer mouse available.

• Two-buttons mouse, three buttons mouse and scroll mouse.
  Two-buttons and three buttons mouse are rarely used now a days. let us learn about scroll mouse.

Scroll mouse

A scroll mouse has a scroll wheel in the middle of left and right button. scroll wheel helps you to move up and down in a page. scroll mouse can be of two types-ball mouse and optical mouse.

Ball mouse

When you turn the ball mouse upside down, you find a ball inside it. this ball helps in the movement of the mouse pointer. the ball mouse is also known as mechanical mouse.

Optical mouse

An optical mouse does not have a ball inside it. it uses light instead of a ball for movement of the pointer.

The position of mouse on the computer screen is called pointer. it is shown as a small arrow on the screen.

Clicking

Pressing button on a mouse is called clicking.

Single-click

When you press the left mouse button once, it is called single-click.

Double-click

When you press the left mouse button twice very quickly, it is called double-click.

Dragging and Dropping

Dragging and dropping, using the mouse is an important activity.
Dragging the mouse means to move the mouse while holding the left button pressed. releasing the mouse button after dragging is called dropping. it is used to move an object or text on the screen.

Selection

You can select text or an object with the help of mouse. click once to select an object or icon.

Right Click

To right click, gently press and release the right mouse button once. it generally displays a list of commands called as right click menu or pop-up menu. for example, right clicking on the computer icon displays a list of menu.
