Names of devices present inside Computer Cabinet

1 Motherboard

Motherboard is the main circuit board of the computer. In which devices like CPU, Hard Disk, USB Devices, Power Units etc. are directly and indirectly connected. Through this all the devices related to the computer are connected. And they are also managed.

2 CPU

The full name of CPU is Central Processing Unit. It is called the brain of the computer. Because all the Logical and Mathematical Process is done by this. All instructions are also resolved by the CPU itself. Its working speed is very fast. CPU performance measured in MHz, GHz. (Computer Cabinet)

The CPU is a square plate of about two inches. Inside which there is a silicon chip. This chip is equal to the thumb of our hand. The CPU is placed in the CPU socket in the motherboard. Which is covered by Heat Sink. On top of which a cooling fan is installed. You can easily recognize it.

3 RAM

RAM is a temporary memory. In which the data is stored for some time only. When a task is over or the power supply is turned off. So the data stored in it gets deleted automatically.

4 Hard Disk Drive

Hard Disk Drive is a Secondary Storage Device. In which we can store songs, videos, photos, files etc. data forever. The data stored in this device is stored forever. And even after power supply is turned off, it does not get deleted.

5 Power Supply Unit

Power Supply Unit is known as SMPS. Through which electricity is delivered to all the devices present in the cabinet. Its main job is to convert the power coming from outside to the motherboard according to the need of the computer. From where electricity is transmitted to other devices. (Computer Cabinet)

Note: Whenever you want to open the Computer Cabinet, first of all remove the Power Plug. Then touch the devices inside it. So that you and your computer are safe.

6 Cooling Fan

The job of the cooling fan is to protect the CPU from overheating. It is placed above the heat sink. which you can easily identify.

7 Expansion Cards

Expansion slots are there in different motherboards. In which Expansion Cards are applied. Well nowadays we don’t need them. Because Video Cards, Sound Cards, Graphics Cards etc. come built in. (Computer Cabinet)
