What is internet of things (IOT) Full Details

Computers and the Internet are such things that everyone must have heard about and used them at one time or another. At the same time, there are many things connected with computers and the Internet, which we use but we do not know about them. In the field of technology, many types of things are being manufactured day by day, due to which new types of technology are coming in the market and one of these technologies is ‘Internet of Things’. This word is being mentioned in many places. But do you know what the Internet of Things means, what is the Internet of Things called and how does it work? Today we will try to answer all these questions to you through this article.

The full name of IoT is Internet of Things. At the same time, in many places you will find IOT written instead of Internet of Things. The term was first used by Kevin Ashton and he said that it is a system where the Internet can be connected to the physical world through ubiquitous sensors.

What is Internet of Things (IOT)

Many types of technologies and devices can be connected together through the Internet of Things. The development of the Internet of Things networking is a great success. This technology is used to connect all the gadgets and electronic devices through the Internet. With the help of this technology, all the connected smart devices send data to each other and can receive data from each other. They then work on the basis of the data sent to each other. At the same time, this technology is very successful in today’s time and is becoming very important for the people. With the help of this technology, the life of our people will become very easy in the coming times. With its help, you can link any one device or device with the Internet and get the rest of the devices to do whatever you want.

At the same time, the example given below will help you to understand this technique more easily. If a person wants that the AC of his room should be turned on before reaching his house and when he reaches home, he gets his room very cold, then this can be done through Internet of Things. On the other hand, if your AC remains on while leaving the house, then with the help of IoT, you can also turn it off.

Yes, any person can turn them on or off from anywhere by connecting many devices of his house together with the help of internet. Similarly, if there is any defect in your vehicle, then its information will go to that vehicle manufacturer with the help of this technology. After which the company of your vehicle will give you information about the fault in your vehicle. However, you can take advantage of this technology only when these devices are connected with the IP address of your mobile or device.

Smart home (What is smart house) – (IOT)

Smart homes are a part of the Internet of Things and you must have heard about smart homes. In fact, smart homes are called those homes where all the appliances in the house are connected to the Internet. These devices control the heating, AC, doors of the house with the help of sensors only. Suppose if you are not at home and you have left any door of the house open. If there is a sensor on that door, then it will automatically close after some time. Not only this, you will get information about this thing through your phone.

Wearables (what is wearable technology) – (IOT)

Wearables are the things that you can wear. Such as smart watch, smart shoes and etc. All these things come under the Internet of Things. At the same time, you must have heard about many types of smart watches. Like the smart watch of Apple company. With the help of these watches, you can do many things, such as this watch can give you information about your health, At the same time, you can send emails anywhere while working out by connecting these watches to your phone. That is, you do not need to look at your phone again and again while working out.

Similarly, there are many devices related to smart garden, smart kitchen and health, which are counted under IoT. These tools work on their own understanding the situation. For example, if you have a smart alarm clock, it will pick you up based on weather, traffic and more. Suppose you have to go to another city and your 6 o’clock alarm is loaded in your smart watch, At the same time, this watch will pick you up based on the weather, the traffic you get on the way. If the clock thinks that you should get up 15 minutes earlier because of traffic, then the clock will wake you up 15 minutes before the alarm you set.

Internet of Things Devices or products (IOT)

Many types of Internet of Things devices are being made and sold by many well-known companies in the market. Devices like Amazon Echo, Fitbit One, Astrum AL 150 Lock, Apple Smart Watch and so on come under this category. The tools mentioned above perform different functions. For example, through Amazon Echo, you can play songs, find out weather information or book a taxi. At the same time, through Fitbit One, you can know how much you have walked. How many calories have you spent? Not only this, how long have you got sleep. Apart from this, this device keeps on generating data about your health from time to time through the internet and keeps you informed about the progress made by you.

The Astrum AL 150 Lock- Security is a Bluetooth based lock. This lock supports Android and iOS devices. You can easily connect it with other gadgets present in the house. And with the help of your phone, you can lock things.

Future of internet of things (IOT)

At present, about 1200 crore devices around the world come under this. At the same time, it is believed that from the coming time this number will increase by 26 times from this number of times. In addition, the global market value of IoT will reach $7.1 trillion by 2020. At the same time, it can be easily estimated from these figures that how much demand for this technology is going to be in the coming time.

Internet of things advantages (IOT)

Everything can be done easily through the Internet of Things. At the same time, the standard of living of people through the Internet of Things will also increase in the coming times. With the help of this technique, you can easily do many tasks at once. Apart from this, if you are away from your office or home, then you can easily get the information there with the help of smart devices.

Internet of things disadvantages (IOT)

The biggest disadvantage associated with the Internet of Things is about security. In today’s era, many questions arise regarding the security of the Internet. In such a situation, due to connecting everything to the Internet, there will be a threat to their security. At the same time, in the coming time, this technology can also become a threat to people’s jobs.

Top internet of things companies (IOT)

These smart devices are made by many well-known companies. In the list of these companies, the place of IBM company is at number one. Whereas other companies that are involved in IoT are as follows- Google, Intel, Microsoft, Apple, Cisco and Samsung.

Internet of things projects in India (IOT)

It is estimated that in the next five years, India will achieve 20% share in the global IoT market. At the same time, many types of schemes have been started in the country by the Government of India, which have been started regarding IoT. And one of these schemes is named Smart City Scheme. The Government of India has invested about Rs 7,060 crore on this scheme. Under this scheme, the Government of India wants to achieve goals like smart parking, smart urban lighting, smart city maintenance, civil security, smart grid, smart energy, water management in urban areas.Apart from this, the state of Andhra Pradesh has also been planned to become an IoT hub by 2020. Due to which 50,000 jobs are expected to be created in the IoT sector. At the same time, it can be inferred from all these plans that India also does not want to lag behind in the field of IoT in any way. The Government of India also wants to keep its country ahead in the field of technology in every way.

How an IoT System Actually Works (IOT)

A complete IoT system works by integrating four different components. These components are sensors or equipment, connectivity, data processing and user interface. First, the sensor or device collects data from its environment. After which that data is sent to the cloud (Internet-based process). At the same time, the sensor sends its data to the cloud through things like cellular, satellite, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc. Once the data goes to the cloud, the software does some sort of processing on it. After which the information is sent to you.

For example, if the temperature of a company’s cold storage place rises abruptly, then information about this temperature will be sent to the cloud through sensors. After which it is seen in processing that what is the temperature. On the other hand, if the temperature is found to be very high, then its information is given to you through an e-mail or message. So that you can know that the temperature of that place has increased more than the prescribed temperature and you can fix it in time. In this way, the information of any thing reaches you easily and in less time through this technology.

Conclusion

Many types of equipment are being made in the world, which are also proving to be very beneficial for us. With these tools, we are able to do our work easily. But at the same time we are slowly becoming very dependent on technology. Seeing which it seems that in the coming time we are going to be completely slave of these technologies. Which is not a good sign. We are putting our lifestyles at risk by becoming completely slaves to technology.
