How To Use Home Tab And View Tab In WordPad
Using WordPad’s Home Tab
Tools have been set in many places to edit text in WordPad. These places are called Tabs. You also know them by the name of Menu. In this tutorial, we will tell you about the Home Tab of WordPad.
You can activate the Home Tab of WordPad by pressing Alt + H from the keyboard. Or you can also use it by mouse. By Default in WordPad, the buttons of this tab remain open.
The Home Tab is divided into several groups. Each group has buttons related to a specific task. You can use these buttons by pressing them with the mouse. Below we will tell you how many groups are there in the Home Tab? And what is the function of the tools available in each group.
Home Tab Groups Names and Their Functions
There are total 5 groups in Home Tab. You can see them in the screen shot shown above. These groups are named Clipboard, Font, Paragraph, Insert and Editing respectively. Now you have become familiar with the Groups of Home Tab. Let us now know the work of each group.
Clipboard In WordPad
Clipboard is a temporary storage. In which the data copied or cut by you is saved. Unless you paste this data somewhere. Till then it remains in the Data Clipboard.
Font In WordPad
You do the formatting of text through the commands available in Font Group. In this you are given commands to change Font Family, Font Size, Font Style etc. Through these commands, you can format any WordPad document according to you.
Paragraph In WordPad
In this group there are commands related to setting the paragraph. Through these you can set Indent of Paragraph, Space between Lines, Alignment etc. Apart from this, you can also make a list.
Insert In WordPad
Pictures are inserted in the documents through the commands available in the Insert Group. You can also insert Current Date and Time in WordPad Document from here. Apart from this, you can insert Paint Drawing, Object etc.
Editing In WordPad
There are 3 commands in Edit Group. A word/sentence available in the WordPad Document is searched through the Find Command. With Replace Command, you can write any other word in place of any word available in WordPad Document. You have to change the word only once, and in place of that word another word is written. And the text available in the document can be selected simultaneously through Select All Command.
WordPad’s View Tab and Its Uses

Zoom In WordPad
There are 3 buttons in this group. When you click on Zoom in, the document looks bigger than its original size. When you click on Zoom Out, it starts shrinking back. And if you click on 100% then the document comes in its original size.
Show or Hide In WordPad
There are 2 commands in this group. The first Ruler, from which the Ruler is shown and hidden. And with the second command, the Status Bar is shown and hidden.
Settings In WordPad
From the Settings Group, you set up Word Wrap and Measurement Units. In Measurement Units, you can choose from Units like Inches, Centimeter, Picas, Points etc. And you can use any unit for yourself.
