Q:(A)What is a computer? What are its components ?

Ans:- 

an electronic device which is capable of receiving information (data) in a particular form and of performing a sequence of operations in accordance with a predetermined set of procedural instructions (program) to produce a result in the form of information or signals.(Hartron Exam)
 Five basic components of computer system
• Input Device.
• Output Device.
• Storage Unit.
• Central Processing Unit (CPU)
• Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU)
Control Unit
Computer Operations:- The Computer has a different function for each phase of its own working.

 1. Input :- (Data) Data is a collection of raw facts & figures which have been collected from various sources but not in organized form.
2. Process: – Processes the data and converts it into useful information.
3. Information: – When we apply process on data we get some result. This result is called information.
Components of Computer:- In this we can explain the components of computer. The main components of computer are:-
1. Input / Output Unit ( I/O Unit )
2. Central Processing Unit (C.P.U.)
3. Memory Unit (M.U.)
(1) Input / Output Unit: – A device through which we feed the instruction and data into a Computer is called input. 
(i) Input unit are given below:-
a. Keyboard: – The Keyboard is one of the main input devices used in a Computer. It is used to enter text and numeric data in a computer system. Mostly keyboard have 104 and 106 and 108 keys are available.
b. Mouse: – Mouse is the small device. It can move cursor in any direction.There are two types of Mouse:-
• Two button Mouse
• Three button Mouse
c. Scanner: – A scanner ‘scans’ the image from the top to the bottom are line at a time.
d. Light Pen: – A Light Pen is an input device familiar to a mouse. It is use to directly write and draw any figure on the computer screen.
e. Joystick: – A joystick is also used to move the cursor position on screen. Its function is similar to mouse. Children can play games on computers with help of joystick.
f. Touch Screen: – A touch screen is also an input device. When we touch the screen it can detect the presence and location of a touch with in display area. The term generally refers to touch the screen by a finger.
(ii) Output Device :- Output devices are those devices which display and give the result from the computer.
a. Monitor or VDU (Visual Display Unit):- It provides visual displays of data are of different types and have different display capabilities & different size.
b. Printer: – A Printer is the primary output device used to get the printed copy or hard copy of work on paper, slides, clothes etc.
(i) Impact printer
(ii) Non-Impact printer.
(iii) Impact printer: – the printers that print the characters by striking against the ribbon and onto the paper are called impact printers. These printer are two type:-
(1) character printer:- 
(i) dot matrix printer
(ii) Daisy wheel
(2) line printer
(i) Wheel printer
(ii) Drum printer
(iii) Chain printers
(a) Non impact printer: – the printers that print the characters without striking against the ribbon and onto the paper are called non-impact printers. These printers print a complete page at a time. these printer are two type :-(1) laser printer (2) Ink jet printer
b. Plotter: – A plotter is an output device which is used to generate graphical output. It is different form printer in that draws lines using a pen.
c. Speaker: – Speaker is an output device. It is used to listen the music and sounds. It needs a sound card connected to C.P.U.
d. Screen Image Projector: – Projector is also an output device that display image such as a computer screen to be projected on a flat surface. This device is commonly used in Presentations
