In this lesson we will tell you about Animations Tab of MS PowerPoint. You can activate the Animations Tab of MS PowerPoint by pressing Alt + A from the keyboard. Or you can also use it by mouse.

Animations Tab is divided into several groups. Each group has commands related to a specific task. You can use these commands by pressing the mouse. Below we will tell you how many groups are there in Animations Tab? And what is the function of the commands available in each group.

Names and Functions of Groups in Animations Tab

There are total 3 groups in Animations Tab. You can see them in the screen shot shown above. These groups are named Preview, Animations, and Transition to This slide respectively. Now you have become familiar with the groups of Animations Tab. Let us now know the work of each group.

Preview In PowerPoint

The Preview command is used to view animations and slide transitions created for PowerPoint presentations. The animation you have created for your presentation. And the transition in which you want to see that slide. This command is used to see its preview.

Animations In PowerPoint

Animation is set for the text or objects (shapes, clip-arts, pictures etc.) available in the slide by this command. For which object or text you want to set animation. Select it first. And then set animation for it. You can set different animation for each object. If you want, you can also set up Entrance, Exit etc. This is called Custom Animation.

Transition to This Slide In PowerPoint

Slide Transition is set by this command. You can choose the transition useful for you from here and apply it to the object. And you can see its preview. If you have to add sound with this transition, then you can also add it through the Transition Sound command. And the Transition Speed can also be set according to you.
