• Click on Stock Item.

• Enter the name of the stock item in Name.
• Under Under select Primary.
• Create Category like – Color Printer, B/W Printer etc.
• Determine the unit like – Qty, Pcs, Nos etc.
• Yes to GST Details.
• Save by pressing Ctrl+A.

Through the above process, we can create Stock Item in Tally, it is important to keep in mind that only one stock item should be created with the same name. Apart from this, for good stock management, we must enter Stock Category and Stock Unit for stock items.

How to Alter Stock Items in Tally

After creating Stock Item in Tally, if there are some mistakes, we need to make corrections in the Stock Item which is called Stock Item Alteration in Tally.

To alter or improve the stock item in Tally, we have to follow the following steps –

• First of all go to the main window of Delhi.
• Now go to Gateway of Tally.
• Select Inventory Info under Master.
• Now we are seeing the option of Stock Items.
• Click on Stock Items.
• Now click on Alter option.
• Select the stock item to be repaired or altered.
• Correct the stock item details.
• Now save it by pressing Ctrl + A button at last.
• In this way we can improve and alter the stock item.

How to Delete Stock Item in Tally

In Tally, we need to delete some mistakes or unnecessary stock items, because in Tally we have to do the right and accurate work, so we have to delete the unnecessary stock items, then the stock items in Tally Get information about it can be deleted in this way –

• Go to Gateway of Tally.
• Click on Inventory Info under Masters.
• Click on Stock Item.
• Now select Alter Option.
• Select the stock item that you want to delete.
• Delete stock item by pressing Alt+D button.
• In this way we can delete the stock item.

Stock Item List in Tally (Stock item in Tally)

To see the Stock Item List, in Tally, we have the option of Inventory Info under Gateway of Tally, under which we have to click on the Stock Items option, on clicking which we get the option of Display, on selecting which is made in our Tally. The Stock Item List appears.

How to Create Single Stock and Multiple Stock Items in Tally

Creating Stock Item in Tally is an important task, which we can create in Tally through Single Stock and Multiple Stock option, through which we do the work of stock management.

First of all go to Gateway of Tally and select Inventory Info option.

Now we have to click on the Stock Item option as you can see in the picture below.
