When to enter receipt in Tally
Receipt Entry in Tally : We use Receipt Voucher to enter Receipt in Tally and there are different types of Voucher available in Tally through which we are able to identify and enter transactions in the same way to enter Receipt Voucher. For this, it is very important for us to identify the transaction, while entering the receipt in tally, keep these things in mind –
1- Direct Income: When we sell any goods, cash in business, then we do receipt entry using Receipt Voucher in Tally.
2- Indirect Income: When we make various types of income in business, which is not directly related to business, such as – Rent Received, Commission received, Bank Interest then we do receipt entry using Receipt Voucher in Tally.
How to Enter Receipt in Tally
Receipt Entry in Tally : Receipt Voucher is used to enter Receipt in Tally, to use Receipt Voucher in Tally we have to follow these steps –
Gateway of Tally >> Accounting Vouchers >> Receipt Voucher (Press F6)
Now after the Receipt Voucher comes, we have to prepare the ledger according to the transaction done in our voucher, after preparing you have to enter the receipt voucher like you are able to see in the example
Transaction 1:-
Bank of Baroda Bank check of Rs.20 thousand was received from Shri Trisha Cloth Center Colliery.
Voucher entry in Receipt Voucher
SBI Bank Dhamtari A/c Dr. 20000
to Trisha Cloth Center Cr. 20000
(Check Number 461556, Bank of Baroda Bank check of Rs.20 thousand was received from Shri Trisha Cloth Center Colliery.)
Transaction 1: -In this transaction, goods were sold to Trisha Class Center in the past, due to which we are getting Bank Check of ₹ 20000 now, thus in this transaction we have to make Receipt Entry which will be Entry in Receipt Voucher of Tally.
Transaction 2:-
State Bank of India received interest of Rs.2000 from the bank.
Voucher entry in Receipt Voucher
State Bank of India Bank A/c Dr. 2000
Bank Interest Received A/c Cr. 2000
(Interest received Rs 2000 from SBI Bank)
In this transaction, we are getting 2000 interest from State Bank of India, which comes in Indirect Income, we will enter it in the receipt voucher.
Transaction 3:-
Shri kushal cloth store started from Rs.1- 6 lakh.
Voucher entry in Receipt Voucher F6
Capital A/c Dr. 600000
to Cash Cr. 600000
(Shri kushal cloth store started from 6 lakh rupees.)
In this transaction, business is being started by the business owner by putting ₹ 600000 which is income for the business, so it will be entered in Receipt Voucher.
