Application software

Application programs that fulfill specific tasks for the user are called application software or applications. The functions of the application are as follows
*It is a productivity business tool.
*It supports graphic and multimedia.
*It supports domestic and personal business activities.
*It also provides communication tools.

The above four utilities of the application are not mutually exclusive. All email programs, for example, are communication and productivity programs. Software suites are productivity tools, which include web page authoring software. Both home and business users have valid software.
Variety of application software is available as packaged software. You can buy these software at respective retail stores or on the web.A software package is a software product like Microsoft Office. Many software packages such as shareware, freeware and public domain software are also available. Nevertheless, these packages have little capacity compared to retail software packages.

Productivity Software

Productivity software helps people to get more efficiency and effectiveness while doing daily activities. These include applications such as world processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, graphics, personal information manager, software suite, accounting and project management.

Word processing software:

Word processing is the ability to create a document using a word processor. A word processor, known as a document preparation system, is a computer application used for the production, editing, formatting, and printing of any printed material. Similar to a word processor typewriter, a stand alone computer unit can also be called.But it also has technology advancements such as screens, advanced formatting, printing options, and the ability to save documents to computer memory or disk.

Microsoft Word is the most widely used computer world processing system.

Database Software:

A database is a collection of organized data in such a way that it allows data to be accessed, retrieved, modified, and used. For example, you can reduce the length of a video clip, reorder clips or give special effects such as words that are horizontally across the screen.Audio editing software usually consists of filters, which are designed to enhance audio quality. Filtering can remove destructing and background noise from audio clips.

E-mail:

Email (electronic mail) is the main communication technology used by both personal and business users. Email is the transmission of messages through a computer network such as a local area network or a wide area network. You use email software to create, send, receive, forward, store, print and delete email messages. Email messages may be careful tax or may be attached like a word processing document, graphical image or audio and video clip.

Web browser:

A web browser acts as an interface to access and view web pages on the Internet. Today browsers have a graphical user interface and are very easy to learn and use. The browser has many special features including buttons to help you navigate through the website.
